Two Dogs at Night
Short story by Iranian novelist Aida Moradi Ahani.
Set against the intense bombing of Iran, two disparate men go on a harrowing journey through the streets of Tehran. One traverses by choice, and the other forced until they both inexplicably collide on a paradoxical barren road surrounded by ravenous street dogs.
